The First series of Inspirational Interviews is launched, Interviewing moms. I am a mother of two children, ages four and a half, and five months old. When I was six years old, my mother started to work away from the home. Before that, she supported my dads furniture manufacturing business from the house; so, although she was doing the admin and using her brain, she was always around the house. Once she started to work, I remember the empty feeling that was in the home when I would come back home from school. We grew up in a small town so there were no concerns about us walking home, and being home alone. I would sometimes write notes on the mirror to say that I have run away, because I felt so lonely and sad without my mom being home. Of course my brothers and I would be in and out of the house all day, playing with friends, and the maid was always home, but never my mom. Anyway this conversation is very close to my heart because it had such a big impact on me when my mother started to work away from home. When I was eight years old, my mom and I were going somewhere in the car and I said to her, one day when I grow up I am going to work from home so that i can be with my children…. so the rest of the story is just history…now that i am a mother, and someone who has a lot of drive and ambition…this conversation is an excellent ( and confronting ) place to start my new talk show; Inspirational Interviews… I am just exploring my curiosity on this subject, already all the women I have had the honour of interviewing, have inspired me so much and supported me with different decisions I too have to make as a mother. I am merging this highly opinionated conversation with the outcome of something inspirational. I hope you enjoy it, and thanks for watching!
